Jasmien goes to great lengths to find the best solutions for clients’ information technology and data protection needs

Jasmien is an associate in our Intellectual Property and Information Technology  team based in Brussels.

She regularly undertakes both advisory work and litigation practices in various legal areas including copyright, privacy and data protection, telecommunications, e-commerce, e-marketing and IT contracts.

She assists clients in information and technology related-matters such as cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things, 3D printing, cookies, electronic signatures, intermediary liability and online gaming.

Moreover, she assists with the legal compliance of research and innovation projects funded by the EU Commission in various fields, such as cloud computing (CoCo Cloud), big data (TOREADOR and LeMO), the General Data Protection Regulation (DEFeND), and cybersecurity (Threat-Arrest).

Before being admitted to the Brussels bar in 2014, Jasmien obtained her law degree from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven, cum laude) in 2013. During her masters she participated in the Erasmus programme for one year at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. She also holds an LL.M. in European Competition and IP Law from the University of Liège (ULg, magna cum laude).

Prior to joining us in 2014, Jasmien gained legal experience during her summer and student internships at Bird & Bird and another Brussels-based law firm.

Jasmien is fluent in Dutch, English and French, and has a good understanding of German and Italian.
